WAYNETOWN – Jesse (Wiffred) Rush, 75, sexton at the Alamo Cemetery 25 years, died Wednesday morning in his home at Alamo. He had been ill since last October. Born Feb. 25, 1883, near New Market, Mr. Rush was the son of Robert and Susie Miles Rush. He married Mary Selby May 27, 1916 at Waynetown. He was a member of the Alamo Christian Church. Mr. and Mrs. Rush began housekeeping in Waynetown. They moved to the present home in 1917 and had lived there since. Survivors include the widow; a son, Jesse Rush of Alamo; a daughter-in-law, Marcia Rush of Alamo, and a sister, Mrs. Lenna Reath of Alamo. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Alamo Christian Church, with Rev. Noble Carothers, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the Alamo Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church one hour preceding the rites. Friends may call at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown until noon Friday. – jlr
